Erasmus was born out of a group called Innerkip Drumbo in October 1972.  Frank and I had been playing fairly regularly with Tom Evans & Mike McCarty on drums (two drummers were very hip in 1972) when I met a guy named Blaine Putnam at IE Weldon High School.  Blaine played guitar and told me about a new guy at school who also played guitar really, really well.  This guy was Eric Pulst.  We had him come out for an audition and I remember very clearly looking at Frank in the middle of "Susie" by Elton John when Eric played the guitar break and our joint expression was "He's in the band!".   We fired Blaine and brought Eric in.  Tom left for some reason or other soon after  (I think he broke his leg or something like that), and the four of us carried on.

Erasmus became a really good band and covered lots of Jethro Tull, Beatles, Ten Years After, Alice Cooper, Humble Pie, David Bowie, T Rex and several originals.  We played colleges, high schools and community centres in Peterborough, Lakefield, Lindsay, Sunderland, Cannington, Bobcaygeon, Omemee & Fenelon Falls throughout the remainder of 1972 and 1973.

Frank & Mike left in March 1973 and were replaced by Hugh Ambrose on vocal and Terry Beauclerc on drums.

Erasmus reformed with Mike, but without Frank in the summer & fall of 1973 and again in the fall of 1974 for a short time

After more than 25 years, the band  held a Reunion in April 2000 with Frank, Gord, Mike & Eric returning to their original roles in Erasmus.   Frank passed away in early 2004.
